Acute
0330-0900 5.5hr
0700-1500 8hr
0900-1700 8hr
1230-2030 8hr
1530-2330 8hr
1930-0330 8hr
2300-0700 8hr
Workload
6 hour shift with variable start times
1200-1830
1300-1930
1400-2030
1500-2130
1600-2230
The physician at the back end of their acute shift is the code responder.
0730 RN Triage Shift
On the schedule you will see 0730 RN
This is a 4hr shift from 0730-1130AM where you will shadow the nurse working triage to gain an appreciation for the triage process in the Emergency Dept.
There is no formal evaluation for this shift, simply come open minded and ready to learn!
If there happens to be any major trauma or resuscitation that occurs during this time please ask the acute doctor if you could observe.
Shift Layout
Acute shifts are primarily focused on seeing the higher acuity and more complex patients, and transition to minor treatment for a portion of the shift.
Workload shifts are primarily focused on seeing CTAS IIIs.
Your shift time is the same as a staff physicians. You will work together for that shift.
